Why is muscle monitoring so revealing?

Kinesiology

If you’re capable and motivated, you can achieve incredible things. So why is it often so hard to change certain behaviors or attitudes, even when you know they aren’t helping you? The answer lies in subconscious patterns and beliefs that operate beyond your awareness.

Two Types of Memory:
Explicit Memory:

This is the memory we use actively—to learn, store, and retrieve information for tasks like studying, working, or recalling general knowledge.

Implicit Memory:

Think of this as a continuous video recording of your life, capturing emotions, beliefs, and reactions from the start. Often, you become aware of implicit memory only when an unexpected emotion or reaction surfaces, such as behaving “out of character” in a situation. These deeply ingrained memories and beliefs drive our survival instincts and behavioral patterns.

Implicit memory is elusive. It’s made up of unconscious thoughts and emotions, triggered by situations that evoke survival responses. When these beliefs are unknowingly challenged, you may feel emotionally reactive and only later reflect, “Why did I overreact to that situation?” These reactions indicate a hidden core belief that has come to the surface.

What Lies Beneath

Our minds are like icebergs, with most of our subconscious thoughts and beliefs hidden below the surface. These hidden elements influence us energetically and can affect our physical health. Dr. Masaru Emoto, a Japanese scientist, demonstrated that emotions and sounds impact water at a molecular level—and since the human body is largely made of water, harmful energetic patterns locked in the body can lead to discomfort or illness. For example, stress might cause tight neck muscles, sore shoulders, or headaches.

The Role of Muscle Monitoring

Muscle monitoring, a key tool in kinesiology, helps practitioners uncover these subconscious stresses, beliefs, and patterns. By identifying what’s holding you back or emotional patterns that no longer serve you, kinesiology allows you to bring them to the surface. Many of these patterns were imprinted before the age of four, before the brain had fully developed logical coping mechanisms. These early imprints often form the habitual patterns that run our lives.

The kinesiologist uses muscle monitoring to shine a light on hidden stresses, giving you the gift of choice:

  • Do you want to continue in the same pattern?

  • Or is it time to start making meaningful changes?

You have a Choice

By identifying these imbalances, muscle monitoring paves the way for self-awareness and transformation. It’s an empowering tool that helps you rewrite the subconscious script that governs your behaviors, allowing you to live with greater balance and intention.

Do you wish to continue in the same pattern, or start introducing changes?
