Body Stress Release Origins and Testimonials

about healing

Origin

The Body Stress Release (BSR) discipline was developed by Gail and Ewald Meggersee as a result of their determined search for healing. Ewald’s journey began with a childhood accident: a fall from a tree that left him unconscious for a week and later developed into a chronic back condition. Over time, his condition deteriorated to the point where he required a wheelchair. This challenge ignited their pursuit of a solution.

Wheelchair to jiggling

Both Gail and Ewald became chiropractors, hoping this would alleviate Ewald’s suffering. However, it was their discovery of an innate body feedback loop—one that could identify lines of stress—that changed everything. This breakthrough set them on a path of years of dedicated research and development, ultimately leading to the creation of the Body Stress Release technique. During this process, Ewald experienced remarkable progress, moving from needing a wheelchair to regaining the ability to move freely—sometimes even “jiggling about like a child,” as Gail describes.

Fidgety Children

If you have a child who is:

  • Fidgety
  • walks on tip toes
  • continually wants to be picked up
  • avoids walking
  • frequently complains of growing pains

Then, this story and the Body Stress Release technique could be especially intriguing.

Comments

According to Gail, “It is about one man’s journey from debilitating pain and limitation, back to a state of well-being.”

Ewald himself recounts the pivotal moment: “I climbed up a tree and fell out of it, landing flat on my back. I was unconscious for a week…”
